X-Ray (Berlin Hologram)

A month after. Dreaming mouths. Spilling onto streets,
sheets of rain. She raises a hat filled with water. Spring morning,
somersaulting couches. Conch shells, spit words, rage,
falling through police lines. Drawings on pavement,
a marked-up body’s oblong shape.

Outline for tenement. Eviscerated termites.
Expropriating billionaires. For every back-dated eviction notice,
pull petals from yard flowers.

Flooded petri dishes. Restaurant plates. Patterns,
of a noisome, howling, diaphragmatic wailing.

And he is falling again, against a wall, hard-shouldered, landing, broken.
Looking to art windows for winter expressiveness. Murmuring.
Mirrors, spirals. Scraped, plated souls. Cows, all-grizzle & gut.

After restaurant shifts, memory maps a body:

Toast to beauty. The moon, autumnal. What was borne by haloed
documentary. A spirit. Raw figures. Night, a drawn & quartered revery.
Drowning. Then, Ascension. A fawn. The exhumed draperies. A clavicle
necklace. Bay rowers. A pendant bracelet. Singing out of key. Of
whom we were, that which might re-emerge, in scansion. Melody of
crystal. Black and white keys. The striated piano.
